Dybala set to leave Juventus

According to Fabrizio Romano, Paulo Dybala will not be signing a new contract with Juventus, which means he ll be leaving the club at the end of the season as a free agent unless there s a significant change in the situation between now and then.

Apparently, the two parties had agreed a new deal back in October last year, but Juventus have since changed their proposal to make it less favourable towards the forward. Dybala has now rejected the latest proposal, which the club consider non-negotiable, and he has decided to open talks with other clubs about a free transfer in the summer.

Dybala joined Juventus from US Palermo back in 2015 for a reported fee of just over €40 million. Since then, the 28-year-old has gone on to score 113 goals along with 48 assists in 283 ap…

Conte: Don´t call my Inter team the ´saviours´ of Italy

Antonio Conte vowed Inter should not be portrayed as Italy s footballing saviours as they battle for Europa League glory.

A semi-final against Shakhtar Donetsk awaits coach Conte and his team on Monday in Dusseldorf, with the prospect of ending the season with silverware.

Attentions have turned to Inter at home after Juventus fell to Lyon and Napoli lost to Barcelona in the Champions League last-16, while Atalanta bowed out to Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals of the same competition.

The Nerazzurri represent Italy s last hope for a European trophy this season, but Conte dismissed the notion they are playing for the nation.

The former Italy and Juventus boss said in a news conference on Sunday: We don t consider ourselves the sav…

Paul Heckingbottom looks set to be sacked as Sheffield United manager

Paul Heckingbottom looks set to be sacked as Sheffield United boss in the wake of Saturday’s capitulation at Burnley.

The Blades were thumped 5-0 at Turf Moor, their 11th defeat in 14 matches this season, and lie bottom of the Premier League with only five points.

The club have subsequently postponed Monday’s pre-match press conference ahead of the midweek visit of Liverpool.

Former manager Chris Wilder is the favourite to replace Heckingbottom if the 46-year-old becomes the first top-flight boss to be dismissed this term.

Some away fans turned on Heckingbottom towards the end of Saturday’s defeat, during which striker Oli McBurnie was sent off before half-time for twi…

Hat-trick hero Harry, Fergie´s 5-5 and remarkable Reading record – Premier League´s craziest final d

There is no title race to be run or relegation battle to be won, but the Premier League always seems to deliver on its final day.

Indeed, the Opta data bears it out.

In 23 of the 28 Premier League campaigns prior to 2020-21, the average number of goals per game was higher on the final matchday than across the rest of the season.

Indeed, the highest-scoring date in the history of the competition (May 8, 1993) was part of the final matchweek of the Premier League s debut campaign.

There were 47 goals from just nine matches, with 53 across the 11 total games that weekend – or a staggering 4.8 per game.

Once the prizes are largely secured, the pressure s off, the sun s out (sometimes ) and the holidays – or major tournament flights – are booked,…

Bournemouth make Unal deal permanent

Bournemouth have made Enes Unal s stay at the Vitality Stadium permanent, with the striker signing a four-year contract after a productive loan spell with the club.

Unal arrived on loan from Getafe in January and made 16 Premier League appearances throughout the second half of 2023-24.

While he largely served as a deputy to star striker Dominic Solanke, Unal did manage two goals as Bournemouth finished 12th, just one point adrift of a top-half finish.

Unal s first Premier League goal was a stoppage-time equaliser in a 2-2 draw with Sheffield United in March, while he was also on target in a 3-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion in late April.

Bournemouth set a new top-flight club record by earning 48 points in their first season under Andoni Iraola, enjo…

Kieran Trippier ‘committed’ to Newcastle after Bayern Munich bids – Eddie Howe

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is confident Kieran Trippier will stay with the club after they resisted Bayern Munich’s attempts to prise him away.

The 33-year-old England full-back was the subject of three separate offers from the Bundesliga champions earlier this week, all of which were rejected by the Magpies.

Howe, who has also seen strikers Callum Wilson and Miguel Almiron linked with moves away from Tyneside before next Thursday’s transfer deadline, insisted Trippier – the first man signed by the club’s new owners following their takeover in October 2021 – never wanted to leave.

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup fourth-round trip to Fulham, he said: “We obviously hope he’ll stay – and I’m very confident he will – and be part of our long-t…

Atletico Madrid 4-3 Getafe: Dramatic late Hermoso winner settles chaotic derby in favour of Simeone´

Mario Hermoso was 10-man Atletico Madrid s hero as the defender scored a dramatic late winner in Saturday s chaotic 4-3 derby win over Getafe.

A manic match looked to be petering out until Hermoso – who attracted much criticism for his performance against Barcelona last week – showed Atletico s character despite being down to 10 men.

An astonishing first half saw Atletico charge into a 2-0 lead through Angel Correa and Matheus Cunha after Luis Suarez s early penalty miss, only for Getafe to turn the game on its head thanks to Borja Mayoral s poacher s effort and a pair of Enes Unal spot-kicks.

Correa made it 3-3 just before the interval, but the hosts suffered another blow in the second half as Felipe was shown a straight red for a wild challenge.

World Cup draw: Spain and Germany headline group stage, England set for USA trilogy

We know most of the teams and now we know the majority of the games after the draw for the 2022 World Cup was made in Doha on Friday.

The full line-up of teams is still to be determined and the locations and times for each fixture are also to be confirmed, but what we do know is that there will be some extremely intriguing matches in the group stage in November when proceedings get under way in Qatar.

Tournament debutants, check. Cinderella stories, check. A mouth-watering clash between European heavyweights, check. A game to make England fans extremely anxious, oh you better believe that s a check.

Yes, this is a group stage that appears to have everything and, while there is plenty of time for opinions of these teams to change, here Stats Perform takes you thr…

Inter star Hakimi ´sad´ as PSG move beckons – agent

Achraf Hakimi s agent Alejandro Camano said those who leave Inter are always sad as the star full-back nears a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG are reportedly closing in on a deal to lure Hakimi to the Ligue 1 giants, despite interest from Champions League holders Chelsea.

After arriving from Real Madrid ahead of 2020-21, Hakimi helped Inter to their first Scudetto in 10 years, but his future has been in doubt amid Inter s financial problems.

With Inter trying to cut costs as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, Hakimi, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid target Lautaro Martinez, Romelu Lukaku and Alessandro Bastoni could reportedly be sold following Antonio Conte s departure.

Camano represents both Hakimi and Martinez, and he discussed the pair on Tuesday.

Stuttgart 3-3 Heindenheim: Undav snatches last-gasp leveller for top-four chasers

Denis Undav s last-gasp Bundesliga leveller salvaged a 3-3 draw for Stuttgart against Heidenheim, who thought they had completed a remarkable turnaround moments earlier on Sunday.

Undav s 98th-minute equaliser kept Stuttgart four points clear of fourth-placed Borussia Dortmund as Sebastian Hoeness side continue to chase Champions League qualification.

Hoeness’ hosts appeared to be cruising after ‪Serhou Guirassy and Angelo Stiller were both on target in either half at MHPArena but home goalkeeper Alexander Nubel s own goal laid the foundations for late drama.

Tim Kleindienst capitalised with two quickfire strikes to snatch an unlikely Heidenheim lead with five minutes remaining, yet Undav provided the last twist to snatch a share of the spoils.
