Spurs in failed bid for Thauvin

French newspaper Le Provence has learned that Tottenham attempted to recruit Marseille midfielder Florian Thauvin on transfer deadline day.

Spurs made a last minute move on the talented youngster by offering OM cash plus Etienne Capoue, but their proposal was rejected by the French giants.

Tottenham were willing to cash in on Etienne Capoue for €14 million, but they rejected a €10 million offer from Napoli on transfer deadline day.

Meanwhile, Marseille opted against selling Thauvin, who had only joined OM in the summer of 2013.

The 21-year-old has impressed at Stade Velodrome since he was snatched from Lille, having managed 6 goals and 3 assists in 18 Ligue 1 outings.

Two-goal Darwin Nunez makes the right impression on Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp praised Darwin Nunez’s attitude after the striker scored twice – including the 1,000th goal of the manager’s reign – in a comfortable 5-1 Europa League victory over Sparta Prague.

The Uruguay international took his tally for the season to 16 – just two behind Mohamed Salah who had a goal disallowed by VAR on his return from injury – with a performance which was a perfect warm-up for Sunday’s visit of Premier League title rivals Manchester City.

After an up-and-down first season following his potential club-record move from Benfica the 24-year-old has found more consistency this season and but for a touch more luck would have been pushing Salah as leading scorer.

A double for Darwin

RB Leipzig given the go-ahead for fans to return

RB Leipzig will be able to welcome fans back into their stadium for their game against Mainz on September 20.

However, with Germany having curtailed the spread of the virus, Leipzig have been given the green light to have crowds back in attendance for their home match against Mainz.

Leipzig will be able to have up to 8,500 fans in the stadium, after a location-specific agreement was reached with the city s health department.

The Catalan giants have reportedly initiated negotiations with the Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande over the potential move for the former midfielder Paulinho.

Brazilian media outlet Globo Esporte has learned that the talks are at an early stage but claim that Barcelona representatives have made it clear they are keen to acquire the services of the Brazilian international.

It is being suggested that Barcelona have moved forward at the suggestion of Neymar, who wants to see Paulinho and another Brazil teammate Lucas Lima join him at Camp Nou.

Nintendo Has Reportedly Wanted To Shut Down Wii U eShop For Years

The Wii U is going to lose its digital store in just a year, and while you can hear the “Wii U Wii U Wii U” ambulance approaching, it was apparently supposed to get here a lot earlier–or at least that’s what Nintendo reportedly wanted.

According to a Nintendo Life report, an anonymous Nintendo of America employee said Nintendo has wanted to shutter the Wii U eShop for several years, but was concerned of class-action suits if it were done within a decade of the system’s launch. The company didn’t directly respond to Nintendo Life’s request for comment. Come from Sports betting site VPbet

Pienaar undecided over Everton future

Reports that South African playmaker Steven Pienaar is on his way out of Everton are wide of the mark, according to the player s agent.

Pienaar is out of contract at the end of the season and has been linked with a number of high profile clubs, most recently Tottenham.

But Pienaar s agent, Ivan Modia, said no decision has been made about the 28-year-old s future and slammed the constant speculation surrounding him.

The player has not made his mind up, Modia told Sky Sports.

The player just wants to concentrate on his football, I cannot make that any more clear.

It gets to the point now, where if I responded to every piece of speculation about Steven Pienaar, I would not be able to do anything else, it would be a full-time job doing that.

Premier League preview: Liverpool v Stoke

Liverpool will need to be willing to adapt their game when they take on Stoke in the English Premier League on Wednesday.

Tony Pulis side have a reputation for playing a direct, uncompromising brand of football, a style which saw them get the better of Liverpool earlier this season at the Britannia Stadium.

The Reds lost 2-0 on that occasion and manager Kenny Dalglish is determined to avoid a repeat this time around.

My next managerial challenge on the pitch comes against Stoke City at Anfield on Wednesday night, Dalglish said.

I ve always had to adapt to facing different styles as a manager; in my first time at Liverpool we had to play the likes of Millwall, who had Teddy Sheringham and Tony Cascarino and played a very direct game, or Wimbledon, who w…

Juventus v Inter: Hernanes wary of opening title race up to chasing pack

Hernanes has warned Juventus to be wary of their Serie A rivals matching the champions stellar run of form as they attempt to keep it a two-way race for the title with Napoli by winning Sunday s derby d Italia against Inter.

Leaders Juve recovered from a slow start in the top flight to put together a 15-match winning league streak that only ended with a disappointing 0-0 draw at Bologna last weekend, Napoli s failure to beat Milan keeping them top.

Massimiliano Allegri s men, who fought back from two down to draw 2-2 with Bayern Munich in the Champions League last-16 first leg on Tuesday, next face an Inter side whose title challenge has apparently derailed in 2016.

Roberto Mancini s men were top at the mid-season break, but three losses and three draws in eight…
